Subsea buoyancy foams are high-performance deep-sea composite syntactic materials specifically engineered for extreme deep-sea environments. They feature lightweight design, high strength, corrosion resistance, and ultra-high pressure resistance (capable of withstanding pressures at depths exceeding 10,000 meters). These subsea buoyancy composites are typically fabricated by lightweight fillers like hollow glass microspheres to reduce density, often combining reinforcing fibers (e.g., carbon fiber, glass fiber) with polymer matrices (e.g., polyurethane, epoxy resin).
Subsea buoyancy foams are widely used in deep-sea equipment. They serve critical roles in manned submersibles, buoyancy modules for ROVs/AUVs, subsea oil and gas pipelines, and deep-sea mining systems. By minimizing structural weight and enhancing durability, these syntactic foams significantly extend operational lifespans and improve energy efficiency. As deep-sea resource exploration advances, deep-sea composites are indispensable for enabling cutting-edge technologies and driving sustainable development in ocean engineering.
Lightweight 3M glass bubbles occupy up to 20x more space than an equal weight of typical mineral filler.
We have two kinds standard syntactic foam block 320x320x100mm and 500x500x100mm.
Compressive strength and compression modulus ASTM D695-15 axial loading test.
Testing of water absorption rate under static water pressure.
Density range of 0.3-0.7g/cm³ provides exceptional lifting capacity.
Water absorption rate is not more than 1%. It provides stable buoyancy under large waer pressure.
High compressive strength with <5% deformation at maximum rated water depth.
It is resistant to deep sea water corrosion and has good weather resistance.
Withstands extreme depths up to 7000m without structural failure.
20+ year lifespan with minimal annual buoyancy loss (<0.1%).
20+ year lifespan with minimal annual buoyancy loss (<0.1%).
Modular designs allow shape/size adaptation for specific project needs.
Density and strength can be designed according to the user’s water depth requirements to meet actual usage requirements.
