Pipeline Installation and Pipeline Deployment Buoys

The pipeline laying floats can be strapped to the pipeline to reduce the tension and weight as pipeline deployment installation buoyancy during the launch of a pipeline. The  pipe deployment floats modules also can be used to provide buoyancy when pulling the pipeline underwater.

We manufacture various tie-in pipeline foam buoys to provide the best float solution for the different pipe laying buoyancy requirements. We make the shallow water and deep water pipe deployment floaters down to 300m of depth. If necessary, higher depths can be reached. 

To meet the different customer’s requirements,  we are making the pipeline foam buoys in two different buoyancy modules. One-piece float and modular floats. Our pipeline foam buoys are fabricated with the different density closed cell foam cell depending on the depth requirement, covered by polyethylene skin/polyurethane elastomer outer skin. The skin also can be reinforced by nylon filament upon request. Each buoyancy modules have banding grooves to secure the buoys to the pipeline. The end fitting can be designed for the easy handling operation. The floats can be fixed on pipes with different types of straps or wire rope according to necessity.

Tie-in Type Pipe Laying Floats

DOOWIN pipe-laying foam float buoys are designed depending on the pipeline’s diameter, working water depth, and project requirements. We can make the below-type pipeline installation buoys and other buoyancy modules upon the client’s request. The bottoms have special curve designs to work with different diameter pipelines. 

The buoyancy and weight are based on the working depth. Because we use different surface foam materials and syntactic foam for different water depths, the weight and buoyancy of the same-size floats are different. The drawings and picture references are for illustration purposes only.

Rotomolded Pipe Deployment Floats Module

Structure Design: Polyurethane foam + PE molded hard shell

Pipe deployment floats, the so-called “tie-in”, is used to support the weight of pipelines during deep-sea underwater pipeline laying. Mooring floats are typically used within a water depth range of 0 to 200 meters, but deeper depths can be achieved if necessary. Modules can be combined together to obtain float with different buoyancy. According to operational requirements, different types of straps can be used to secure the float to the pipeline: steel strips, steel and textile straps, and special plastic material straps.

We also can make the deep water pipe deployument floats with our syntactic foam.
